Marriage Vows to GOD.
Undertake them in all
honestly and in fullness of Spirit.
If married, undertake
these vows with your spouse and with the understanding to Love GOD together and
more than you love each other.
To have and to hold. This
means daily having and holding. For a relationship with GOD this means to study
Him, to pray to Him, to consistently get to know.
For better and for worse.
This means to literally stay in GOD's will, in His love no matter what! Doesn't
matter who gets sick, who leaves, who dies. You remain by GOD's side, never
letting go of His hand.
For richer and for poorer.
You are now vowing to GOD to stay by His side, doing His will, living for Him
regardless to what blessings He bestows upon you. You are saying GOD doesn't
matter if I'm a millionaire or a homeless person, I will remain faithful and
committed to You Lord. If you go into ministry, you don't care if you have a
mega church or a church of 10; as long as you doing GOD's will. GOD I will
worship you regardless to my financial circumstances.
In sickness and in health.
You are vowing to worship and praise GOD no matter how you feel. You can be at
100% in health and worship GOD or you can be on your death bed and you will
still worship GOD. You are telling GOD, I will worship regardless to my
physical circumstances.
To love and to cherish.
This is major! To love and to cherish GOD is what makes you want to change your
life. When you love Him, you are more than willing to obey His commandments and
His decrees. When you are cherishing GOD, you are showing that you appreciate
Him, and when you appreciate Him and what He does, you reflect that in your
behavior.
Until death do us part.
Now this is the tricky line because when you have truly committed to GOD and
have received salvation from Him, there is only the physical death but you will
have spiritual life with Him. When you
give yourself to GOD, nothing can separate you from Him not even death.
I wrote these a while back when I was committing to God. I share them with you so that you too can commit to God and understand in fullness what this commitment entails.
Love to you!
